Holdmark Property Group is providing a new improved building for Warrah School at Dural. Warrah Specialist School is an independent, co-educational school providing quality and individualised education for students with disabilities such as an intellectual disability in the moderate to severe range, autism, and other complex disabilities. The school caters to students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and has been in operation for over fifty years.
Holdmark is donating the building resources toward ‘Walumeda’ at Warrah, and the new and improved building will be used for Discovery, a community support service for young adults, and to provide Short Stay accommodation. Discovery is a tailored approach for school leavers, designed to deliver individualised programs that support the transition to adult life while building on skills developed at school. This program operates from 9 am – 3 pm each weekday. Short Stay offers people with disabilities the opportunity to stay for two to three nights in a safe and supportive environment.
Holdmark was introduced to Warrah when Sarkis Nassif was awarded the Urban Taskforce 2017 Property Person of the Year and this project has come about through his relationship with Warrah over the past three years. “It is my honour to support an organisation such as Warrah, when you see first-hand the support they provide to the community through their programs, I was happy to provide this new and improved building for their clients to enjoy,” Mr Nassif said.

The scope of the project includes Holdmark donating building materials and labour for the construction of a new extension to the existing Walumeda building located at 20 Harris Road, Dural. Holdmark is also donating materials and labour for repairs and enhancements on the building that is currently on the site. Once finished the building will provide updated accommodations, a new accessible bedroom and bathroom, two new work areas, upgraded services, accessibility ramps, a new deck, and bushland landscaping. Work on the $950k project has commenced and the building is expected to be complete by early April 2021.
