Burwood Place
When delivered, Burwood Place will create a true “5-minute city”. A cultural hub where connected city living meets round-the-clock convenience. It’s a precinct where over 5,000sqm of public space, including a town square, hawker markets, and a public park, seamlessly interacts with over 23,000sqm of retail shops and around 14,000sqm of commercial space.
A place to be and be seen, we’re delivering over one thousand much needed new homes, including around 150 homes set aside for affordable and adaptable housing. Burwood Place will deliver a 24-hour precinct that leverages immediate access to the Sydney Rail Network, safe and dynamic promenades, and diverse hospitality offers.
This project will set the benchmark for mixed use precincts in urban centres, places you can live, work, play and stay in.
Planning for Burwood Place commenced in September 2015 and planning approval was achieved in December 2021.
Work commenced onsite at Stage 1 (52-56 Railway Parade) in late 2024.
We value the opinions and unique cultural mix of our community at Burwood and have engaged community in discussions to shape the look and feel of the public spaces in the new Burwood Place Precinct.
Holdmark is committed to continuing to connect with our community throughout the project and will provide regular updates on the progress of demolition and construction of the project.
Commencing in early March 2026, there will be temporary changes to pedestrian and traffic access along sections of Railway Parade and Wynne Avenue.
For a period of around eight-months, commencing in early March 2026, works to progress the development of Burwood will mean there are changes to how traffic and pedestrians move.
Key Changes Include:
- A temporary closure to vehicles of Wynne Avenue between Railway Parade and Unity Place
- Temporary changes to pedestrian traffic along Wynne Avenue between Railway Parade and Unity Place
- A temporary closure to pedestrians of the southern footpath on Railway Parade between Wynne Avenue and Conder Street. The existing pedestrian crossing on Conder Street remains open
- Vehicle access along Railway Parade between Conder Street and Burwood Road will continue to be available.
Pedestrian Access:
- Pedestrians wishing to move along the southern footpath on Railway Parade between Wynne Avenue and Conder Street will be diverted onto Wynne Avenue, using the Eastern footpath (Burwood Plaza side), and Unity Place.
- Pedestrians travelling along the southern side of Railway Parade, who wish to access the northern footpath on Railway Parade where it runs parallel with our site, will need to use the pedestrian lights at the corner of Railway Parade and Wynne Avenue to cross.
Traffic Access:
- Vehicle access to and from Burwood Plaza, Emerald Square, Burwood Grand car parking will be from Belmore Street only.
